Tax Card Online

Challenge

Calculating new tax cards gulped a major chunk of the working hours of tax clerks. In order to get a re-calculated tax card, citizens have to either queue on the phone or find the time to visit the tax office.

Solution

With the Tax Card Online service citizens can re-calculate their tax cards online. The service enables producing new interactive online services to citizens, companies and the authorities. In Finland, this project is unique with regards to its size, volume activity and effects.

CCC implemented the Tax Card Online service to Finnish Tax Administration on top of Fujitsu’s platform solution. CCC also maintains the service.

Benefits

The Tax Card Online service provides citizens with concrete tools, makes common routines a bit easier, and in the long run, also saves taxpayers’ money. With the service tax cards can be re-calculated on the Internet. The service has improved and digitised Tax Administration’s processes, is technically reliable and easy to use. During the first three months, over 100,000 tax cards were calculated online. 

The superiority of this service has also been recognised with numerous awards, e.g. JulkIT Awards 2007 as the best ICT project in public administration, Executive IT Awards recognition and Grand One 2007 recognition.
